E-mail signatures have important information that allow your contacts to get in touch with you. Webmail services such as Gmail and Yahoo have always offered email signature features, but they have had limited features such as not allowing a clickable link to your website or to include your company logo. This has been one of the few limitations of webmail services, until now.
A new browser add-on called Wisestamp, currently in Beta, does an incredible job of fixing this by bridging the gap between the social web and email signatures. It won Mashable's Open Web Awards, it's awesome, and free. Why wouldn't you use this?
Here's a hypothetical example of a Wisestamp success story:
1. You're using Wisestamp to control your Gmail account's signature because you are so smart and good with technology. You've just sent an email to your friend about going to the movies on Friday night. They see in your email signature that your latest blog post is called "Why I Like To Eat Spaghetti." They make a comment in their reply about how they like spaghetti too, but they prefer lasagna. It's kind of funny and you both go back to whatever you're supposed to be doing.
2. You get inspired by your friend's comment and decide to write a new blog post called "Why I've Abandoned Spaghetti for Lasagna." You write and publish the blog post, which automatically updates your email signature with a link to your latest blog post.
3. You email your friend back to say that you can't make the movies on Friday night, it will have to be another time. They see your Wisestamp email signature and notice you've written a new blog post. They click on the link to read the new post and suddenly all that time that you've put into your pasta blog is finally worth it.
